Jim Curry is returning to Modesto's Gallo Center for the Arts for a second summer in a row to perform his popular John Denver tribute. He performs at 8 p.m. July 11, this time in the 1,200-seat Rogers Theater rather than in the 444-seat Foster Theater as he did for his first appearance. Curry says this year's show will be a little different, with new selections of Denver songs, plus the addition of Steve Weisberg, one of Denver's band members and the writer of some of his songs. The show will feature such Denver songs as "Rocky Mountain High," "Sunshine," "Calypso" and "Annie's Song." Curry's voice was heard in the 2000 CBS-TV movie "Take Me Home: The John Denver Story." He has performed Denver's music all over the country. The Gallo Center is at 1000 I St. Tickets are $20-$35; 338-2100 or www.galloarts.org.
