Stage 3 Theatre in Sonora is presenting "Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure" from July 10 through Aug. 9. The play was adapted by Steven Dietz from two stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: "A Scandal in Bohemia" and "The Final Problem," as well as a drama by Doyle and the actor William Gillette. "The Final Adventure" centers on a duel of wits between the famous detective and his archenemy, Professor Moriarty, and takes place in several parts of Europe. The director is Modesto Junior College theater instructor Michael Lynch. Stage 3 Artistic Director Don Bilotti stars as Holmes, with John Bell playing Watson. Maryann Curmi is opera singer Irene Adler, the one great love of Holmes' life, and David Rodriques plays Moriarty. Stage 3 is at 208 S. Green St. Tickets are $12-$18; 536-1778 or www.stage3.org.
