About a dozen French horn players who performed in MoBand in the 1970s will reunite for a performance at Thursday's MoBand concert in Graceada Park. The free show begins at 8 p.m. in Mancini Bowl, Sycamore Avenue and Needham Street. Most of the returning French horn musicians played in Davis High School's French horn choir and performed under band teacher Les Lueck, who moved to Minnesota in 1973. Lueck, who stayed in touch with the performers over the past 35 years, will also attend the reunion. In addition to performing at the MoBand concert, the French horn players will meet privately and play through their old horn choir repertoire. Many of the students went on to have careers in music -- some are college or school band directors and one is a professional musician in Florida.
