Salerno, DeNevi art

The Central California Art Association is presenting the art show "So I Paint," featuring works by Barbara Gill Salerno and Don DeNevi, Thursday through July 30 at Mistlin Gallery in Modesto. The reception is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. July 16 during downtown Modesto's Third Thursday Art Walk and will include a show by the Adamantine Belly Dancers, who perform tribal fusion-style dancing. Salerno is a member of the Valley Sun Catchers plein-air painting group. DeNevi's watercolors focus on the Carmel Mission, Pacific Coast lighthouses, Salinas and the San Joaquin Valley. He is also the author of more than 30 nonfiction books on California history, including "Escape from Alcatraz, or the Riddle of the Rock," published in 1995.
