2 More acrobats
Another troupe of Chinese acrobats visits the Gallo Center. This time, it's the West Lake Acrobats, winner of the gold prize in the 2005 Rome circus and acrobatics contest. The group brings ancient tales to life through traditional disciplines and new inventions. The National Acrobats of China visited the center in January.

4 Love bites
A bloodsucking vampire seduces his victims in Sierra Repertory Theatre's "Dracula." The script is an original adaptation written by Sy Kahn, father of Sierra Rep co-founder David Kahn, and launched the theater company's first season 29 years ago.

5 Lila Downs
Mexican-American torch singer Lila Downs returns to Modesto after a seven-year absence. She performed a cameo in the 2002 movie "Frida," starring Salma Hayek, and performed the film's Oscar- nominated song at the Academy Awards that year. Her 2005 album, "Una Sangre/One Blood," won a Latin Grammy. Downs performed at the State Theatre in 2001 and 2002.

6 Music series
Join the fun as Stage 3 continues its 2009 music concert series, Music@Stage3, which launched earlier this month. This week, it puts on a show called "Folk & Country Croonin'," featuring a down-home lineup of folk and country music.
