Recently, Goodwill Industries of San Joaquin Valley opened a new store at 3900 Sisk Road. It is an A-1 property with a beautiful store and donation center. It has been met with positive comments from donors, customers and nearby business tenants.

Donors now have a convenient place to safely recycle no longer needed clothing and housewares. Customers are grateful for an opportunity to shop in a beautiful and modern environment that remains budget-friendly for families. Our business neighbors are glad to vitality restored to the shopping center.

Proceeds generated by this second Modesto store will provide additional funding for Goodwill's job training and placement services for Stanislaus County residents who have barriers to employment. To access these free services, call 558-3570 or go to www.goodwill-sjv.org.

Importantly, the city of Modesto's Economic Development Department was extremely helpful in smoothing the process that ultimately brought 19 new jobs with full benefits to a county suffering high unemployment.
