The Modesto Symphony Orchestra is pleased to partner with El Vista Elementary School to bring music education and live performance experiences to Modesto students. Through support from the Bank of America Foundation, the Symphony in Schools program features music education, music history, and instruction in basic music composition using computer software that can present their creations in real time. Docents, MSO musicians, conductors, guest artists and Youth Orchestra members visited El Vista to help students develop listening skills, broaden understanding of different art forms and demonstrate how musicians utilize teamwork to produce great music.

Symphony in Schools at El Vista will culminate at the end of the year when the students join the Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra and the MSO Chorus in a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the Gallo Center.

This comprehensive program is a perfect example of the positive energy created by the collaboration of individuals and organizations committed to the betterment of our community.
