In response to "Aunt not welcome as Facebook friend" (Oct. 28, Ask Amy): I agree with those teenagers when they don't want to be their aunt's friends on Facebook. I think the aunt should learn how to make appropriate comments to all her friends, especially the younger generation.
I have a Facebook account, and all my children are my friends. I like to joke around by posting funny comments, but I have to be careful of what I post most of the time. My children and I use Facebook to remind each other when we have a lot of activities to attend. It is good to be in the same network with my children because I know who their friends are.
We all have to learn what not to say on Facebook. I have tried not to post any old pictures unless I ask my children first. Facebook is can be an excellent tool to communicate with friends and families. Certainly, we have to learn self-control.
