Dining out is no fun anymore

Is it just me, or has anyone noticed that restaurants have downsized menu items and have continued to charge the same price? Dinner salads have less lettuce. Even breakfast omelets appear to have been downsized by using smaller or fewer eggs.

I was told at one restaurant chain, leftover baked potatoes from the night before are cooked as country potatoes for the next day's breakfast menu. Restaurants who serve pasta are substituting cheaper and less quality varieties. Napkins are limited and food containers are smaller. Condiments are available only when requested.

The diners are few but the service is sluggish and laced with a don't-care attitude. Dining out is just not fun anymore. Any wonder why we see restaurants closing and people staying home?
