Decision puts health, safety first

I applaud Modesto City School trustees for their decision to allow students to get confidential medical services. As a former high school teacher, I knew kids whose home lives were so awful that they needed protection from the brutality of their own parents. It is sad, but there are instances where teenagers are better off seeking care without their parents' knowledge. The board's decision was a wise one — putting teen safety and teen health first.
