Do we have a crime being committed under our noses in California? Does it border on moral turpitude and does it hoodwink the public? Is a 120-member gang operating out of Sacramento and pulling the crime off right under our noses and getting away with it repeatedly?

Yes! It involves billions of our money and affects every citizen.

The crime is that state legislators repeatedly put partisan politics before the state's solvency and its voters' welfare, and we depend on voters initiatives to solve problems by default.

We live waiting on cuts to basic humanitarian services, law enforcement, education and public works — the very elements mandated by law for a democratic society. Our financial well is at rock bottom, and some of the gang members want even more from the public wealth than we have already given. This has to stop.

We need a new viable state constitution that prevents the stalemates that allow the Legislature to ignore the voters' needs. Californians should make changes through the electoral process rather than by initiatives. We need a state constitutional convention, and we need it now!
