In response to "Noise is exhausting" (June 22, Page B-1) on lawmakers attempting to make a law forcing bikers to change their pipes back to stock: Let's start ticketing the motorists with their bumping stereo systems that knock the pictures off the wall in my living room.

When is the government going to butt out and let people live their lives? This is another way to try to make money off hapless Californians who already pay through the nose for everything.

How much do you want to bet the motorcycle dealers are secretly behind this bill? Does one realize how much money stands to be made when every biker who has ever modified their pipes has to change them out again through the dealer? Every biker needs to stand up and cry out against this nonsense. Loud pipes do save lives. What do loud stereos do?
