Discipline cannot be outsourced

Life moves differently these days. Everyday services are outsourced. Loans and mortgage paperwork -- outsourced to Bulgaria and India. Customer service -- outsourced to China. Even disciplining children and teaching manners and etiquette has been outsourced -- to the classroom teacher!

Parents are too busy bringing in the bacon, and children's discipline and teaching manners is left to the schoolteachers, who have to teach, grade papers, and deal with the rudeness and profanity that the children spew their way. A teacher who is trying to impart knowledge to the students has to stop and take the time to discipline children who disrupt the class.

Parents, please do not outsource this very important parental duty. Take the time to teach your children manners and your values and free the teachers to teach.
