As president of the Associated Students at California State University, Stanislaus, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet all of the major candidates for Turlock City Council. After hearing their proposals and witnessing their interactions with students, I endorse Mary Jackson. She shares my vision of what Turlock can accomplish in the near future.

Jackson's priorities are in line with a vast majority of students at CSU, Stanislaus. She recognizes the strong economic impact the university has on the local community and has a commitment to working with students to create a more vibrant community for students and residents. Students want a Turlock that achieves financial stability and balanced growth; something that Ms. Jackson will bring to the forefront of discussion as a member of the City Council.

Student leaders understand how the lack of state funding can be a disaster for quality and affordability of education. It is similarly disastrous for our community not to receive as much federal and state funding as we pay out through our tax dollars. As our country and communities face the economic crisis, it is important for Turlock to elect someone who understands this predicament. Jackson is that person.
