Show your distress some other way

No one likes war; we would all love to live in peace. But the reality is that there never will be. Shame on Donald Vance for treating the American flag the way he did. Apparently he is not one of those Vietnam veterans that say, "never again on our soil" for the way they were treated upon their return from Vietnam.

There are other ways to show your distress about the current situation -- a poster board with pictures and words on it.

This area has lost many young men and women to this war. We also have many wounded who have returned home only to be subjected to the same rhetoric the Vietnam vets were subjected to. Many are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, so I am grateful that Brandon Estes was able to keep himself in control.

Brandon, you are my hero for having the courage to stop and do what many of us should have done but didn't. I am sure many passed by and never gave it another thought.

Yes, Donald Vance can express his opinion, but should have used common sense in this situation, being sensitive to those who are currently serving, have served and lost loved ones.
