Re “Sales tax increase goes back to voters” (Oct. 16, Page 1A): Mayor Garrad Marsh, how dare you blame the voters for the current response times for police and fire as well as the homelessness issues!
It was you and the city council in your collective, infinite wisdom that decided to spend $1.5 million to put College Avenue on a “road diet.” You and the same group decided to pilfer our money twice on the Briggsmore Avenue bicycle lane. I have lived in Modesto for 32 years and can count on both hands how many bicycles I have seen on Briggsmore Avenue. If you and the elected clowns were more responsible with our money, we wouldn’t need Measure G.
Oh, I almost forgot, how much money you wasted on the new courthouse location. Do us a favor and resign! Take all of the council members with you. You will never get my vote for additional funds with your fiscal irresponsibility!
