RE: “Ceres officials protest southern boundary for Modesto’s Measure I” (Oct. 16, modbee.com): As a resident of Ceres I am outraged that Denny Jackman drew a boundary line for Measure I that includes a portion of the City of Ceres. We want Denny Jackman to leave Ceres alone.
While such a boundary line may ultimately not be enforceable in Ceres, why did Jackman feel it necessary to try to include a portion of our city? Why didn’t he share his map with voters in the sample ballot? Is it so they won’t see his overreach? Is it to hide the fact the map he submitted with petitions errantly included Ceres and he thought it best to cover his tracks? If Ceres residents want growth-limit lines, we will do it on our own accord and without the help of Denny Jackman.
I don’t get to vote on Measure I, but I encourage Modesto voters educate themselves on this flawed and scruffily written ballot before going to the polls.
