National Feral Cat Day? Seriously? Congress actually passed a resolution to celebrate feral cats?
I recently converted my yard to drought-tolerant landscape. It looks really nice, except when neighborhood cats use it for a bathroom. Perhaps the cat ladies celebrating National Feral Cat Day would pass around a sign-up sheet to come by my house and clean up after the cats?
I prefer dogs. I don’t hate cats, but I think taking pride in the fact that 6,000 cats are roaming free is nuts. I know they are spayed and neutered, but somehow we got to 6,000 from 0, so there’s a good chance we will get 7,000 before long. How many will be too many? What do we do then?
You may think you are a cat lover doing the world a favor, but unless you take a cat indoors, feed it and provide a bathroom, you are not really a cat lover. You are just a misguided sentimentalist who can’t find a a more worthy cause to support. If all the feral cats were gone tomorrow, no one would notice except me – and I would be doing my happy dance.
Never miss a local story.
