Oakdale Irrigation District board of director Candidate Gail Altieri wrote to this paper last week. In her own words she won’t support programs to educate the public (the $36,000 of PR she mentioned), but plans to spend money to televise meetings. Your paper says she is engaged; I ask, how? I have not missed a single meeting in the last year, yet I have only seen her attend this September’s meeting.
If she is engaged, as you say, why has she not seen fit to see what was going on with her own eyes? OID’s board has been able to deliver more water to our farmers during this drought than any of our neighbors have delivered to their constituents, in some cases over twice as much. Yet when one reads this paper’s opinion that seems to be lost. As a rancher, a neighbor to Trinitas, an educated American and someone who actually goes to the meetings, Frank Clark has my vote.
