Modesto’s finest in action
Recently, my wife and I observed a team of three Modesto police officers handle a potentially volatile domestic situation. When we arrived, the officers were at work defusing the situation. They spent over three hours interviewing, counseling and ultimately facilitating the departure of persons illegally occupying a home.
Further destruction of the house was prevented, warring parties were tactfully and tactically kept separated, and prolonged and expensive eviction procedures were prevented. When the illegal occupants finally committed to leave, the police let them know the agreement was recorded on a video camera one of the officers was wearing and would serve as evidence. This is another example of the benefit of video recording.
Hats off to the patience, professional interviewing and superb problem-solving skills. We are blessed to have such qualified law enforcement men and women as Sgt. Martha Delgado, Sgt. Thomas Ciccarelli and Officer Douglass Griepp keeping the property and citizens of Modesto safe.
Never miss a local story.
