Kudos to Rep. Jeff Denham, R-Turlock, for his work on the Veterans Affairs reform bill that the president signed into law in June. Veterans in the Valley will be helped by the provision that expands access to private doctors and getting more facilities built. Getting this reform done is a sign that bipartisan cooperation is still possible in Congress. Now is the time to keep pressure on the VA to implement the reforms correctly. The VA has a chance to restore the trust of the American people in the agency. Denham served in the military, and I know he will always stand with his fellow veterans. With so few veterans in Congress, we need to keep him there to make sure the overhaul gets done right; too much is at stake.
