Lindsey Barth: Repent for gay lifestyle

I noticed the article “Pride parades across the U.S. draw big crowds” (Page A5, June 30). It is very sad that people continue to support the gay lifestyle. Within the gay community there are many negative aspects, including higher suicide rates, higher rates of depression, higher rates of sexually transmitted diseases, drug use, alcohol abuse and higher rates of some cancers directly related to sex acts. Why would we celebrate this?

Jesus and God the Father describe this sexual behavior as gross sexual immorality, an abomination. Jesus and God the Father love gays, but hate their homosexual sins. The word of God will not change to suit our culture. Instead, I encourage gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people to get help through churches to help them repent for their sins and come to faith. Salvation begins with repentance in order to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. The truth of God, i.e., the Bible, does not change

Lindsey Barth, Modesto
