In regards to the letter (“Court Lucas and his museum project,” June 22) suggesting George Lucas build the museum of his work in Modesto: While it’s a nice thought, and would surely seem like a great idea for our city, I doubt it will happen. If I had dedicated my life and career to something so successful and cherished by so many millions, I’m fairly certain I would want it to be in an international city like San Francisco where tens of thousands of people could visit it annually instead of having to drive to Modesto where only a few thousand might see it each year.
Why not place a tribute to the lives and works of Lucas, Carol Channing, Jeremy Renner, Timothy Olyphant and any others who deserve it in the Gallo Center? It could be proudly displayed, to include every famous native Modestan, and not just movie stars.
