Great articles on turkeys in Turlock (“Turkey roots go way back,” June 19, Page A1). How about some articles on the turkeys in Sacramento?
The Great Train Robbery, aka the high-speed rail project, will cost only $68 billion (political speak for at least $100 billion). The water pipeline project to destroy thousands of acres of our farmland costing who knows how much at this point? (Double the cost after all the engineering studies, etc., are finished.)
What will be the cost to taxpayers to ride this train, as well as the increased taxes to pay off the bonds? How much will our water bills be raised to pay for the tunnels? Will Northern California have any drinking water left after Southern California takes what it wants?
