As the State Department of Social Services was proceeding to suspend or revoke the license of Sundial Palms Residential facility starting in May or June 2012, one person kept the place going.
It was a sad day when the administrator and cook left, leaving only office manager Rosie Prado without any help for about six months.
Prado had no guarantee the facility would stay open. What a courageous lady; she endured and stayed strong.
If she had left, there would have been no option but to close down. Rosie Prado allowed the facility to remain available to serve residents who can’t take care of themselves.
Never miss a local story.

Editor’s note: The California Department of Social Services closed Sundial Palms on Oct. 24, 2013, due to severe understaffing.
