Regarding “Benghazi attack capture gives points to Obama” (Opinions, June 19): No, it does not give points to Obama! I am so frustrated over your opinion on this assault – you’re missing the point of why we are upset with the Obama administration and their handling of this whole fiasco. Most of us don’t care who orchestrated the assault; there are millions of people in the Middle East and North Africa who would be willing to lead, or join, an assault on U.S. citizens.
We want to know who in the Obama administration ordered a stand down in Benghazi when Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Dougherty were calling for help. Four Special Ops were champing at the bit to go in and help, but were ordered to “stand down.” The Pentagon refused to scramble fighter jets from Tripoli to Benghazi (a fly-over had been requested to try to disperse the mob).
So, who ordered the stand down? And, why the cover-up? Why was Susan Rice sent onto a talk show with a false story about a YouTube video?
Why was Gregory Hicks (who was chargé d’affaires in Libya, and became the main person there upon the death of Stevens) demoted? Why was Susan Rice promoted?
