R.A. Brunoni Sr.: Cinderella story ends badly

What started out as a feel-good story didn’t end up that way. How cool would it be that a horse from the San Joaquin Valley would be in the running for the Triple Crown! If it won the Kentucky Derby, then the Preakness, then next the Belmont Stakes.

Chrome didn’t win. Then California Chrome co-owner Steve Coburn started whining about how there were different horses in the three races. There is no rule saying they should be the same horses in all three. He said that they were cowards. Last, but not least, Coburn compared the race to a basketball game between himself and someone in a wheelchair!

Here’s a suggestion: Take a trip to the Coalinga feedlots and take a big whiff. You probably won’t notice, because you’ve already stunk it up! Hee haw! Hee haw! Cheese with that whine?
