Obama not only one ‘mad as hell’
What a relief to learn President Barack Obama is “mad as hell” over revelations that at least 40 veterans died waiting to get medical care at a Veterans Administration hospital in Phoenix.
Is this the same Obama who, in March 2009, wanted to make our vets pay for their service-related injuries themselves, with private insurance, because “they volunteered” for duty? The same Obama who left Americans to die in Benghazi and covered the truth up? The same Obama who sent our SEALs into battle in Afghanistan in a 1960s helicopter with no ground support or pre-assault fire when he knew the area was infested with hundreds of Taliban fighters waiting to ambush them? The helicopter was shot down and everyone in it incinerated. No one came to help them. Is this the same president who ordered a respectful Muslim burial for bin Laden, but did not allow references to Christian beliefs at their funerals? The same man who allowed an imam to pray in Arabic over their coffins, cursing our dead and condemning them to hell?
Barack is a very busy man and we understand he didn’t know about any of these things until later. He’s “outraged.” We know he’ll do the right thing for our vets.

Demand that Obama be impeached
I used to believe President Obama was only un-American. However, following his administration releasing of five top Taliban terrorist from Gitmo, for any reason, let alone in exchange for a soldier who deserted his post on the battlefield, has convinced me Obama is anti-American. Furthermore, I can’t imagine anything the commander in chief of all military forces of the United States could do that’s more egregious to our military forces who fought and sacrificed so much to uphold our precious freedom.
Releasing these Taliban leaders also broke the law that requires Obama to give Congress 30 days notice. Consequently, he failed to uphold his oath of office, to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. This is only the latest of a plethora of anti-American actions under this administration, i.e., Fast and Furious, IRS scandal, Benghazi, secretly obtaining telephone records of The Associated Press journalists, on and on.
It’s time for Americans to demand Obama’s impeachment before our republic is destroyed!

America’s morals are in jeopardy
They say that if you put a frog into a pot of boiling water it will leap out right away to escape the danger. But if you put a frog into a kettle that is filled with cool water then gradually heat the kettle until it’s boiling, the frog will not become aware of the threat until it’s too late. The lack of accountability, truthfulness and personal responsibility in this administration has placed our nation in the pot. Compromise in every area of morality is being broken. The water is getting warmer! A nation that once feared God is slowly being deceived. This “hope and change” is not helping our nation. No leadership, integrity or moral compass remains. Pray for America!

Tree trimmers do great work
After watching the Modesto forestry department trimming trees in my area, I want to extend my appreciation for the great job they are doing. Very efficient in cutting, disposing of the trimmings and cleaning up after. We need to be very proud of these guys.

Fire station has extra engine
Regarding “Firefighters scarce as huge blaze battled” (Page A-1, May 20): In response to the Modesto fire chief having all fire engines being in use, he might want to check with the Woodland Avenue Fire Station. They have an extra state-of-the-art fire engine that they bring to the fire station on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for drills. The engine then leaves because the Woodland Avenue fire station is only allowed two new fire engines at the station.
