Why would the city allow Uber to come into the city and operate a taxi or shuttle service disguised under the words “ride share” unless there was some kind of pay to city officials? The vehicles don’t have to be inspected by the city. The city will take a loss of revenues if the taxes from the fees that taxi drivers pay for permits and inspections of cabs are not paid – not to mention the business licenses. So tell me, how is the city not going to lose money on this? How will this not increase unemployment rates in the area?
