During the second week of June, students from many different countries will arrive to begin “a year abroad.” Each will study in our schools and live with a family during that time. The student will learn about the ways of the people in our Central Valley, and the families will learn about the student’s country. What a wonderful opportunity for both parties.
It’s a way to learn language, geography and more about yourselves as you share your life with them and they with you. Our daughters have been abroad and we have hosted several students during the time we have been involved with this exchange program. We would like to encourage anyone interested to contact nonprofit AFS Intercultural Programs/USA at www.afsusa.org to find out more about this opportunity. Or, if you would like to speak to a local representative, you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You will learn so much and gain a family member for the rest of your life.
