I would like to know how a widow, who works 4.5 hours a day, doesn’t qualify for Covered California care?

She has always done the right thing, like getting a car, house and health insurance.

This is the first time in her 43 years that she doesn’t have health insurance.

It scares me that one health crises can cause her to lose everything that she has fought to keep. A Covered California care representative told her that she would be covered, no problem. She took all the information and told her that she would call her later because she had to call the Covered California care office. She called her and said that she couldn’t be covered, because she didn’t make enough money.

So what is she supposed to do now? She doesn’t make enough for Covered California care, makes too much for Medi-Cal, and can’t afford private insurance. Doesn’t make any sense.
