Save best soil for farming

Kudos to Wood Colony! My house is on hard pan/heavy clay and is terrible to raise flowers and tomatoes on. But every time I start to complain, I say “Thank you, Lord,” because it is not fertile, food-producing land. Good farming land is disappearing under commercial buildings. Can Modesto still claim to be a farming community? Please plant businesses and houses on poor soil. There is plenty available. Save the good soil for the farmers who feed us!
