Referencing the sample ballot, the impartial analysis only refers to percentages. Two percentages are not included: 1. Our sales tax will increase by 13 percent (7.625 percent to 8.625 percent). 2. The sales tax allocation to the city will increase by 133 percent. There is no mention of any estimated increase in dollar revenue to the city. Does the measure expect an additional $50,000 or $50 million? More? Less?
Why bother with an 11-member oversight committee? Per the text of the measure, the council is under no specific obligation to any of the objectives of Measure X.
For a period of six years, this measure provides an unspecified amount of additional revenue to be used in any manner by the city, including the possible exclusion of the objectives mentioned in Measure X.
