Charlie Grom, a candidate for the two-year seat on the Modesto City Schools board:

  is a thoughtful and educated public servant and a lifelong Modestan.

  is active in his three children’s education in the local school system.

  understands that technology alone is not the foundation of education.

  insists on increasing parent involvement in local education.

  has a working knowledge of the community and the school system as essential for preparing our children to become leaders of the future.

  understands the need for financially sound decisions by the school board that put the needs of the students first.

  has insight into many facets of the community through his law enforcement career.

  understands the critical role of safe schools in education.

  has had firsthand experiences with community problems that stem from unsafe schools and from policies that neglect our children.
