Marilyn C. Fuzie: Transparency a must for Modesto courthouse project

I agree there should be open meetings regarding all aspects of the courthouse project. Why would we want a courthouse on 10th Street when all of our other important buildings are on 11th Street? Who owns the property on 10th and whose pockets are being lined?

After the fiasco of the affordable apartments on North Ninth Street and who bought and sold property and the prices involved, it doesn’t sound as though our civic leaders are necessarily working for only the betterment of the city.

And now we are asked to increase our taxes. I would like things to be more transparent before I would consider voting for a tax increase.
