No compromise by Democrats or Republicans

The dictionary defines “compromise” as settlement of differences by mutual concessions.

The Republican-controlled House said we will pass the budget if you remove funding for the Affordable Care Act. The Democratic Senate and President Obama said “no.” The House came back and said we will compromise and pass the budget if you remove the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act and eliminate the special health plan for congressmen and their staff. Obama and the Senate said “no.” Who is failing to compromise?

All the articles in the Tuesday news seem to be blaming the Republicans for shutting down the government. The apparent bias gets even worse if you read Paul Krugman’s column “Why GOP rebels haven’t a clue.” One of his statements: “Today we have a weak economy with falling government spending one main cause of that weakness.” What a ridiculous statement.
