Help Sierra Club fight fracking in California

Gov. Brown recently signed a bill that will allow the environmentally harmful process of oil fracking in California. This process not only will use our scarce water supply but will pump dangerous chemicals into the soil.

Gov. Brown recently signed a bill that will allow the environmentally harmful process of oil fracking in California. This process not only will use our scarce water supply but will pump dangerous chemicals into the soil.

In addition, there have been recent articles stating that the process may potentially cause instability deep in the earth’s structure. One area where new fracking would take place appears to be between our southern valley and the Monterey area right where the San Andreas Fault is located.

Big oil is doing all it can to minimize the dangers of the fracking process to make big profits. Although the governor has signed the bill, we must help the Sierra Club continue in its fight for a complete moratorium on fracking. Consider joining and supporting the Sierra Club. Contact the Governor’s Office to voice your concerns. We must protect our water, air and our public health.
