Death row inmate shouldn't get second chance at life

Douglas Stankewtiz, found guilty of murder, sentenced to death row and over 30 years later is still living.

Regarding “Death row inmate back in Fresno for retrial” (Sept. 20, Page A-1): Death row inmate – that’s the thing. Douglas Stankewtiz, found guilty of murder, sentenced to death row and over 30 years later is still living. The young girl who was 22 years old at the time never got the chance to live out her life, go to college, have a career, marry, have children.

Just because he is now a model inmate does not mean he will be a model citizen. It makes me sick to think he may get out to finish his life. Theresa Graybeal never did.
