I would like to acknowledge and thank Robert Van Tuinen for putting forth the effort to hand out copies of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17. Unfortunately, I find Modesto Junior College’s interference of Van Tuinen’s efforts troubling and un-American.
The Constitution is not some random flier; it is the most significant document in our nation’s past, present and future. Requiring a student to register weeks in advance and hand out his literature only in a small marked area or face police interference is unconstitutional.
