LEMASTER: Dogs in restaurants

Recently I have observed people in restaurants with unleashed dogs eating off plates and drinking out of the (owners?) glasses. It seems to me that it presents a hazard on a few levels.

Some informal questions of servers revealed they were unable to question the persons as to the dog’s role. Most said there was nothing they could do. If this is the law, then anyone can come in with their dog. What next, uncontrolled, unruly dogs?

Make no mistake; I love animals and service dogs fill a very important need. It would seem that they would be eating at the appropriate time and place.
