The new policy of The Modesto Bee to stop reader comments, unless logged into Facebook, is disappointing. Yes, there are a few trolls who post comments daily that get out of control at times, but I love reading the comments almost more than the news. I get my morning laughs over the comments. Today, I noticed there were no comments posted under the new log-in policy. Sad!
Yes, people can write letters to the editor and state their mind, but the letters are also edited, often removing many points the writer wished to state, so they are not free speech.
I do not foresee people posting much in the future. I personally do not want anyone having my personal info from Facebook.
I will miss the comments and hope the policy changes.
