Bad outlook for courthouse project in Modesto

Regarding “Investor who profited is hired as consultant” (Sept. 4, Page A-1): Of course it makes sense for the Modesto City Council to hire Centerra Capital to represent the city in negotiations regarding the new courthouse project. Look at the excellent job Centerra did in making a sweet $700,000 profit plus fees on the Carver Road land, courtesy of the same council. And this at the height of the real estate downturn, no less!

These guys must be geniuses! Never mind that key players who used to work with Centerra had connections to EAH Housing and then on the council. I can’t wait to see how much we taxpayers are going to overpay for those courthouse parcels.
