Bee was useful watchdog

I want to compliment The Bee for Sunday’s front page story “City Apartments: $276K each to build.” This was journalism at its very best! Investigating these types of corruption requires skilled reporters and lots of money and courage that is quite scarce in print journalism these days. The First Amendment to the Constitution provides for freedom of the press and I’m sure that the framers meant that the media should be a watchdog on government.

One wonders why in the world our city leaders would want to dump our poorest families in one of the worst neighborhoods in the city. What's wrong with neighborhoods in the newer north?

I realize that “corruption” is perhaps too strong of a word for some people and I apologize; perhaps “idiotic” would better describe these bizarre dealings.
