Plenty of cash for bad decisions?

Kudos to Councilmembers Stephanie Burnside and Dave Cogdill Jr. in voting to oppose the opening of 10th Street to traffic. Thank you.
If you were to look at the history of decisions by the city of Modesto, you'd probably find the city just can't decide what to do with downtown. What is going to happen to the parklets now that the plaza will be open?
It's also interesting that for a cash-strapped city, the city has $14,000 sitting around to open the street.
Oh well. With the decision to open 10th Street to vehicles, I won't feel so guilty about spending my tax dollars in the quaint and vibrant downtowns of Livermore and Pleasanton.
