Regarding your June 22 issue: First, a very interesting opinion piece regarding the minimum wage. Many workers would be delighted if the minimum wage was raised to $21.72, or more realistically, to $15 per hour. That would certainly help parents feed their children and pay their rent.
I was appalled when I turned to the help wanted section. A very large ad placed by The Bee for a customer retention representative, a part-time job, 16 hours per week, with many job requirements.
Your newspaper is offering the overwhelmingly generous rate of $8 per hour for this job! You should be ashamed! Your starting wage should be more in keeping with the type of business that wishes success for its employees as well as itself.
