Outback Steakhouse does right for boy

On Mother's Day and Father's Day, my family went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner. On both occasions, we were served by exceptional wait staff as well as the cooking staff. I say this because my grandson has a rare disease called eosinophilic esophagitis, which in short means he is allergic to most foods.

On Mother's Day and Father's Day, my family went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner. On both occasions, we were served by exceptional wait staff as well as the cooking staff. I say this because my grandson has a rare disease called eosinophilic esophagitis, which in short means he is allergic to most foods.

He is able to eat chicken and sweet potatoes, which they have on the menu. It gets tricky because the food cannot be contaminated by any other food. It must be prepared completely by itself with clean cookware. He is so sensitive that if the food touches a food that he is allergic to, he will vomit and his esophagus will develop white cells. This is painful and will cause other complications.

My grandson rarely is able to participate in a meal outside of our home because most restaurants are either not willing to accommodate these cooking requirements or do not have foods on their menu he can have. The Outback staff not only accommodated us, but did it in a respectful and tactful manner.

Our special days were made happier because we could share this meal out with our grandson. He is only 2, and this was very special time for him also. We extend a special thanks to the Outback team.
