I read the pro-con articles, "Should the feds tax the miles we drive?" (May 5). It brings me to mind of the city wage tax created in Philadelphia. Many years ago the city charged a 1 percent wage tax from the top of one's paycheck. Now it is almost 4 percent.
We all know Congress does things regarding taxes. One never knows. California is tax crazy. Who knows how they will tax us on mileage for trucks, autos and lawn mowers? Would the tax per gallon be maintained?
Thank you for reminding me of the situation.
