In response to the letter "Standing in judgment" (April 10): When I stand before God, it will not be in judgment but will be in awe of a forgiving Father and willing Jesus to take my sins upon his shoulders.
He will not ask me "Where are my babies?" because the innocent children killed by abortion have spent their lives with him. His only hope for us is that we repent of our sins, turn from them and trust that we have learned his instructions to "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us" (Matthew 6:12).
The hope for women and men who have chosen abortion is not condemnation, but the conviction and realization of their sin and then and only then, can they accept the forgiveness God offers to all sinners. Abortion is wrong. We need the world to wake up to the devastating consequences it has for the unborn and those left to suffer the trauma of having made such a poor decision.
The only solution I know of after the fact is forgiveness. Let's keep working toward eliminating abortion as an option and we solve both problems.
