I am 80 and living on Social Security. My rented house burned almost a year ago and I lost all I owned. Lovely people from the Red Cross were there immediately and put me in a motel for a week or so. Social Services took up rent payments but were not so benevolent, acting as though the money came out of their own pocket. Then one of the most compassionate people I have ever met, Lynn Ewen, the supervisor at Catholic Charities Transportation, stepped in.

I use this service often and the drivers are courteous, helpful and the service is a lifesaver for seniors. When I have a specific time to be at an important appointment, I call Lynn and she rescues me. They do not charge a set fee, but they are so good you wish you could give them $100 each time. They serve all of Stanislaus County, which is great, from your door to where you are going!

So fellow seniors and those who care about seniors, use them and support them with a donation.
