Congratulations for a job well done goes to the Johansen High School Music Department. The "Stars and Stripes Forever Concert, A WWII Concert Experience" on March 22 was a thrill and a moving experience for everyone that attended.

Not only was the music well played, sounding exactly like the big bands I remember listening to as a child, the history came alive throughout the evening. It was a pleasure to see so many parents and several of the district's highest personnel attending. All of the hard work by students and their teachers was very evident.

Thank you, Modesto Bee, for your coverage of this event. If you missed it, check out the videos at http://is.gd/IXO53G, http://is.gd/8pwWVM and http://is.gd/bUvAKw.
